Tree Growing and Ecosystem Restoration
Restoring degraded ecosystems and increasing forest cover is at the core of our mission. Mpenda Mazingira Initiative implements tree growing activities in schools and communities to combat climate change and enhance biodiversity. Our approach goes beyond planting to ensure long-term survival and environmental impact. In a nutshell, this programme includes the following interventions:
Planting indigenous and climate-resilient tree species
Organizing community and school-based tree planting drives
Conducting site assessments and species selection
Carrying out post-planting care (watering, mulching, protection)
Monitoring tree survival rates and growth
Promoting community ownership of planted trees
