The 800,000 Trees Dream is a bold youth-led environmental initiative by Mpenda Mazingira Initiative aimed at restoring nature and building a greener future by the year 2027.
This journey begins with the establishment of the Fr Harman Borg Memorial Tree Nursery, a community learning space where youth and children are trained in tree growing, environmental conservation, and climate action.
As part of launching this vision, we are organizing a fundraising walk and hike at Ngong Hills, bringing together supporters, partners, and the community to raise funds for setting up the tree nursery.
Through this initiative, we will:
Plant and Grow trees in schools and community forests
Empower young people with green skills and leadership
Restore degraded land and protect biodiversity
Educate the next generation on caring for the environment
Every step we take during the hike brings us closer to planting a tree.
